Princess Leia asks for the help of Obi-Wan Kenobi to defeat the Empire. The call to action of destiny fate happens for Luke Skywalker. As a result, Luke Skywalker joins Obi-Wan Kenobi in the mission to restore freedom to the galaxy. A New Hope ends with Luke Skywalker destroying the death star at the Battle of Yavin 4.

Role of Darth Sidious: In actuality, Darth Sidious does not appear in A New Hope. A reference is made to the Emperor in response to the Emperor disbanding the Imperial Senate. The Star Wars fans don't learn until the time of the Star Wars prequel trilogy that Emperor Palpatine is a Sith Master called Darth Sidious.

Role of Darth Vader: On board the death star, Darth Vader has a final light saber showdown against Obi-Wan Kenobi. Luke Skywalker watches as Darth Vader strikes Obi-Wan Kenobi dead. Obi-Wan Kenobi vanishes from reality and returns to the living world to guide Luke Skywalker in the form of a Force voice.

At the Battle of Yavin 4, Darth Vader in his TIE fighter is about to destroy Luke Skywalker in his X Wing when suddenly Han Solo and Chewbacca appear in the Millennium Falcon at the last possible moment and save Luke Skywalker from Darth Vader. With the guidance of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker blasts the death star into permanent oblivion.

Additional Interesting Facts About The Sith Lords: There is no reference made to Sith, Sith Lords or the Sith Order during A New Hope since George Lucas didn't create the word Sith until AFTER the completion of Star Wars Episode 6 Return of the Jedi.
