Story Outline Summary of Star Wars Episode 8 viii Eight The Republic In Crisis: A devastating war between the Mandalorian super commandos vs. the New Republic erupts and sends the entire Star Wars galaxy into crisis. Mara Jade is captured by the Mandalorians, but she is eventually rescued in the end. By the conclusion of Star Wars Episode 8, the Mandalorians have been eliminated as a threat to the peace and stability of the New Republic, but this conflict weakens the New Republic, which enables the Dark Jedi conspiracy to unfold with the Jedi unable to stop it.
