Facts About Destruction of the Sith Master: Count Dooku Darth Tyranus attempted to betray Darth Sidious at the time of Star Wars Episode 2 ii Two Attack of the Clones by inviting Obi-Wan Kenobi to join Darth Tyranus against the Sith Master, who at the time was Darth Sidious.
As expected, the valiant Obi-Wan Kenobi rejected Darth Tyranus' offer to turn to the dark side of the Force. Furthermore, Obi-Wan was unwilling to believe in a vast Sith conspiracy, which scope was so broad that all aspects of the Old Republic were in fact under the influence of the Sith Lords.
However, Darth Tyranus never again had the opportunity to destroy Darth Sidious because Darth Sidious actually ended up betraying Darth Tyranus by ordering Anakin Skywalker (the future Darth Vader) to slay Darth Tyranus at the beginning of Star Wars Episode 3 Three iii Revenge of the Sith during a rescue attempt by the Jedi to free Supreme Chancellor Palpatine from capture by General Grievous on board the Invisible Hand star ship.
Anakin Skywalker cut off both of Darth Tyranus' hands and beheaded Darth Tyranus thus ending the career of Darth Tyranus as a Sith Lord. Darth Sidious would have a history of betraying his current Sith apprentice in order to obtain a younger and much more powerful Sith apprentice.
Name of Sith Apprentice: Darth Tyranus trained two dark side apprentices named Asajj Ventress and Savage Opress.
Sith Apprentice Betrayal: As a result of a diabolical conspiracy against Darth Tyranus, Asajj Ventress and Savage Opress chose to destroy Darth Tyranus. However, Count Dooku proved to be too powerful for the two betrayers and Dooku managed to survive their betrayal.
Additional Interesting Info: At one time, Count Dooku was a Jedi Master and one of the most respected and most powerful followers of the light side of the Force. However, with the death of his former Jedi padawan named Qui-Gon Jinn at the end of Star Wars Episode 1 i One The Phantom Menace, Count Dooku left the Jedi Order because Count Dooku blamed the Jedi Council for causing Qui-Gon to get killed.
After the death of Darth Rage at the hands of Jedi Master Plo Koon, Darth Sidious was in need of a new Sith apprentice. At long last, Darth Sidious was going to be able to unleash his Sith conspiracy with the purpose of destroying both the Old Republic civilization and the entire Jedi Order.
Darth Sidious realized Count Dooku would resist the Sith offer to turn to the dark side of the Force, but Darth Sidious was without question the greatest political and military genius in the history of the Star Wars galaxy. Darth Sidious was able to convince Count Dooku to join the Sith Order by promising Count Dooku that together they could restore the former glory of the Old Republic.
Count Dooku believed the galaxy had become corrupt and slothful. The Old Republic bureaucracy was unable to meet the needs of the citizens it ruled over. As a result, Darth Sidious obtained Count Dooku as a Sith apprentice by telling Count Dooku that only the Sith Lords could restore freedom and justice to the galaxy. Count Dooku changed his name to the Sith title of Darth Tyranus. Count Dooku then served as the leader of the Separatists during the Clone Wars against the Old Republic.
With much deception, Darth Sidious never revealed the full extent of the Sith conspiracy to Darth Tyranus. Without understanding the truth, Darth Tyranus unwittingly helped Darth Sidious establish the most powerful and most tyrannical government in the history of the galaxy in the form of the evil Galactic Empire. Darth Tyranus would eventually have the blood of billions of innocent souls, who lost their lives during the dark times of the Empire, on his hands even though Darth Tyranus perished before the Empire was actually created by Darth Sidious.
