Facts About Destruction of the Sith Master: Darth Rage didn't have the chance to oppose Darth Sidious because Jedi Master Plo Koon killed Darth Rage in a light saber showdown. Plo Koon ended Darth Rage with a Force avalanche. During their battle, Plo Koon saw that Darth Rage was wearing a kyber crystal around Darth Rage's neck. Even at the moment of death, Darth Rage claimed he was not a Sith, but instead was a rogue Dark Jedi.

Plo Koon removed the kyber crystal from Darth Rage and the kyber crystal was taken to the protective vaults of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Once Supreme Chancellor Palpatine learned that the Jedi possessed a kyber crystal, Palpatine ordered the Jedi traitor to retrieve the kyber crystal from the Jedi.

Name of Sith Apprentice: Darth Rage was never a Sith Master and therefore Darth Rage didn't have any Sith apprentices.

Sith Apprentice Betrayal: As a Sith apprentice, Darth Rage never had the opportunity to train his own Sith apprentice. As a result, there was no Sith apprentice to betray Darth Rage.

Additional Interesting Info: After the demise of Darth Maul, Darth Sidious considered three individuals as the new Sith apprentice: Sifo Dyas, Detori, who was a cyborg Toban, and Dakkus Vitrich's former Jedi padawan named Count Jard Dooku. For reasons which remain unclear, Sifo Dyas vanished. The fate of Sifo Dyas remained a mystery for many decades. Detori ended up becoming the new Sith apprentice of Darth Sidious.

Revealing treachery against his own Sith apprentice, Darth Sidious wanted to have a light saber fight between Darth Rage and Count Dooku to determine which one would become the next Sith apprentice. Before this event could transpire, Darth Rage met his doom against Plo Koon. As a result, Count Dooku took the name of Darth Tyranus and accepted his role as Sith apprentice.
